Midsummer Event Takes a Well-Earned Break in 2026

26 March 2026

For the past few years, Framingham Earl and Poringland parish councils have organised a midsummer event on Mulberry Green, behind the community centre.

These events have always been free and allowed local families to spend an entertaining and enjoyable afternoon.  The two councils plan these in a way that allows them to break even by offsetting the costs (first aid, generator hire, waste disposal etc.) by means of a small charge for commercial stallholders and businesses.

However, these events can only happen with the extensive and unwavering support of volunteers and staff from both councils. So that we can give those staff and volunteers more of a summer break this year, we have decided not to hold the event in 2026 but work towards its return to Mulberry Green in 2027 instead.

Although midsummer is still a little while away, we thought it best to inform everyone now so that our residents, vendors, staff and volunteers could plan accordingly
